The illustrations by Gustave Doré for the ‘Divinia Commedia’ by Dante touch on the spiritual reality of the hereafter.

Dante Alighieri (1265 - 1321) wrote the ‘Divina Commedia’, considered as a peak in world literature.
It is a poem about a journey through three worlds of the hereafter: hell, mount purgatory and heaven.
According to Jozef Rulof, Dante experienced actual spiritual out-of-body experiences and under leadership of his spiritual guide he visited dark and luminous spheres in the hereafter.
Many of his descriptions and the illustrations by Gustave Doré (1832 - 1883) touch on the spiritual reality of the inhabitants of these spheres.
